Apple Day October 4th 2014

What happens here is we meet at Bernard-Granmaitre school in the parking lot between 9:30AM and ~10:00AM and give out apples for cubs to go around on a route given by the scouter in charge. We will distribute the apples as well as a map of the neighborhood with routes highlighted so that cubs don't double up on routes. Go door to door asking for donations to the cub pack and in return they receive an apple as a thank you. We are not selling apples! Typical donations are in the range of $1 - $5. Cubs should have a box or tin with a slit in the top that can accommodate bills and coins and should be accompanied by a parent.
This is on of our main fundraisers for the year. Cubs should arrive dressed for the weather and in uniform. The event takes place from 9:00-11:30. After completing the route, return to the parking lot with the donation money.

The weather forecast is rain so please dress for the weather. Several leaders will be in the parking lot and we will likely have a shelter up.

Badge Testing Night -
December 10th

The December 10th meeting will provide the Cubs with the opportunity to test for badges that they've been working on over the last couple of months.

The Cub Scout badges can be found in the Cub handbook or on-line at Scouts.ca (http://www.scouts.ca/ca/cub-scouts-badge-requirements). Parents, please take the opportunity to look at the various badges that their Cub can earn through the Cub Scout Program.

There are over 45 badges that the Cubs can earn - some are very detailed, yet others can be done quite simply (e.g. cooking, team player, collector). You will notice that some of the badges can be signed off by teachers and team coaches, yet there are some badges that can be earned through activities completed as a unit.

*** If your Cub is testing for the Collector badge, they should bring their collection to the meeting. ***

If you’re not testing for a badge, no worries, there will be something for EVERYONE at this meeting!
